ALMA is supporting the Ministry of Health in Mozambique in the implementation of the country’s malaria scorecard management tool for accountability and action. The Mozambique malaria scorecard was developed in 2016 with support from ALMA and partners. It is used to increase awareness about the malaria situation, support the identification of bottlenecks and drive action. Since its rollout, ALMA has been supporting the Ministry of Health in the strengthening and decentralisation of the scorecard management tool and the establishment of an End Malaria Council and End Malaria Fund.
In partnership with the Ministry of Health, ALMA is supporting the launch of a national, multisectoral End Malaria Fund. This Fund will help close the resource gap under the national strategic plan by mobilising in-kind and financial resources. The Board of Directors will also act as national malaria champions.
