In memoriam: Flanck Manger – Mozambique Youth Champion remembered
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Flanck Manger, a dedicated youth champion and talented photographer with Mozambique Malaria Youth Corps.
Flanck passed away on 12 October 2025 in Beira, Sofala Province, following an illness. His loss is felt throughout the youth community in Mozambique and beyond.

Those who knew Flanck remember him as someone who was committed, positive, and full of life. Through his photography, he captured the spirit and stories of young people working to eliminate malaria and advance universal health coverage across Africa.
As a member of the Mozambique Malaria Youth Corps, Flanck worked on community mobilization, advocacy campaigns, and raising awareness about malaria prevention. The Mozambique Youth Corps supports the country’s national malaria control programme, using scorecard tools to track progress, engaging communities in health initiatives, and mobilizing resources through partnerships like the Fundo da Malaria.
We stand with Mozambique Malaria Youth Corps, Flanck’s family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched through his work and his vibrant spirit.
May his memory bring comfort and strength, and may his legacy inspire continued action toward a malaria-free Africa.
Rest in peace, Flanck Manger.
