Dr Adolphine Kateka
Dr Adolphine Kateka is an environmental and climate change economist with more than fifteen years of experience as a researcher, lecturer and consultant in the field of environment, natural resources, climate change and sustainable development. Currently, she is a vice chair and researcher at the Institute of Climate Change, and Agriculture (GECA), a regional NGO covering Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania. Dr Kateka also teaches part time climate change subjects at the University of Dar es Salaam. She regularly conducts climate change capacity building workshops for climate change related stakeholders and carries out climate change outreach programs at community level. She advocates and provides advice on gender mainstreaming in environmental protection, climate change and sustainable development.
Dr Kateka is a chairperson of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance board. She is also a member of Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA), the Western Indian Ocean Marine Science (WIOMSA), the Fundación Avina, a GCF accredited entity and UNFCCC observer organisation, the Genderaquafish organisation, the Varysian Hydromet Network and the Third World Network. All these organisations work around climate and environmental changes. Dr Kateka was also a board advisor at the Green Climate Fund for three years where she gained experience in matters related to climate finance and policy. Her current research interest is in nature-based solutions as a climate change adaptation and mitigation approach in developing countries.
Dr Stigmata Tenga
Dr Stigmata Tenga is the Executive Director of the Africa Philanthropy Network (APN). APN is the only organisational member-based continent-wide network that focuses towards building the multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral network of African philanthropy support actors. APN’s mission is to reclaim the power and elevate African philanthropic giving models and practices. Her work mainly focuses on promoting the power of African philanthropic giving as an alternative development strategy, a driver for structural and systemic change – through impactful domestic resource mobilisation by individuals and communities in Africa.
Prior to that, Dr Tenga was working as a process consultant and a development facilitator connecting minds and bridging between the civil society and other development pillars to include governments and development partners. Dr Tenga has a PhD in Anthropology and she has worked with the central and local governments, facilitating responsive social sector reforms, public-private partnerships – towards a balanced state, market and community development.
Medard Ngaiza
Medard Ngaiza serves as the Personal Assistant to Former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the founding Chair of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance. With a background in Foreign and International Relations, Medard has contributed his expertise to various government ministries in Tanzania. He is an accomplished language expert, proficient in translating documents from English to Kiswahili, and has extensive experience as an editor and proofreader.
Godfrey Kilenga
Godfrey Kilenga graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management (Honours in Marketing) from the University of Dar es Salaam in 1991 and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Tanzania in 1994. Since 1999, he has been an Associate Certified Public Accountant registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors and is a member of the Certified Internal Auditors Institute of the USA. Godfrey is the founder and first President of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Tanzania. He also contributed to the Technical Committee of the NBAA from 2007 to 2009.
Advocate Cecilia Boniface Shiyo
Advocate Cecilia Boniface Shiyo is a trained lawyer and a member of the Tanzania Women Lawyers Association, with a deep understanding of the laws and regulations governing both governmental and non-governmental organisations. Cecilia began her career as a State Attorney at the Attorney General’s Chambers before transitioning to private practice. She has served as the Company Secretary for several private companies, acting as an Ex-Officio Member in Board of Directors meetings. Cecilia is the Founder and Managing Partner of CBS Law Offices. In her current role, she has collaborated with the World Bank on a project titled “Enabling the Agricultural Business by Comparing Regulatory Good Practices in Tanzania” and has facilitated the preparation of Grant Agreements to administer funds to NGOs involved in health and education charity work.
