H.E. Amb. Cessouma Minata Samate – board chair
Ambassador Samate is a seasoned diplomat and policy leader, most recently serving as the African Union Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs, and Social Development until February 2025. She has held several senior positions in government and diplomacy, including Diplomatic Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso and Deputy Minister in charge of Regional Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also made significant contributions at the international level as Director of the United Nations-African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur. Throughout her career, she has been a committed advocate for health equity, peace, and development, playing a key role in advancing responses to malaria, HIV/AIDS, and COVID-19 across the continent.

Medard Ngaiza
Medard Ngaiza serves as the Personal Assistant to Former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the founding Chair of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance. With a background in Foreign and International Relations, Medard has contributed his expertise to various government ministries in Tanzania. He is an accomplished language expert, proficient in translating documents from English to Kiswahili, and has extensive experience as an editor and proofreader.

Godfrey Kilenga
Godfrey Kilenga graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management (Honours in Marketing) from the University of Dar es Salaam in 1991 and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Tanzania in 1994. Since 1999, he has been an Associate Certified Public Accountant registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors and is a member of the Certified Internal Auditors Institute of the USA. Godfrey is the founder and first President of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Tanzania. He also contributed to the Technical Committee of the NBAA from 2007 to 2009.

Advocate Cecilia Boniface Shiyo
Advocate Cecilia Boniface Shiyo is a trained lawyer and a member of the Tanzania Women Lawyers Association, with a deep understanding of the laws and regulations governing both governmental and non-governmental organisations. Cecilia began her career as a State Attorney at the Attorney General’s Chambers before transitioning to private practice. She has served as the Company Secretary for several private companies, acting as an Ex-Officio Member in Board of Directors meetings. Cecilia is the Founder and Managing Partner of CBS Law Offices. In her current role, she has collaborated with the World Bank on a project titled “Enabling the Agricultural Business by Comparing Regulatory Good Practices in Tanzania” and has facilitated the preparation of Grant Agreements to administer funds to NGOs involved in health and education charity work.
