MINISTRY OF HEALTH OF THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA HOSTS RMNCH WORKSHOP IN KAMPALA

From October 26-30, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uganda, with the support of ALMA, and UNICEF’s RMNCH Strategy and Coordination Team, is hosting a workshop on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child’s Health (RMNCH). His Excellency Ruhakana Rugunda, the Prime Minister of Uganda, provided opening remarks for this workshop, where 25 African countries are exchanging best practices and lessons learned from RMNCH Scorecards & the RMNCH Fund. RMNCH country scorecards were developed in 24 African countries as a management tool for Ministries of Health to facilitate accountability by tracking and reporting on intervention implementation, identifying bottlenecks around national priorities and taking action to address these bottlenecks. The RMNCH Fund was established as a catalytic financing mechanism to support integrated RMNCH programming and implement the recommendations of the 2012 report of the UN Commission on Life Saving Commodities (UNCoLSC).
