LEADERS MARK SADC MALARIA COMMEMORATION DAY

Key voices in fight against malaria are gathering in Swaziland to discuss the path to malaria elimination by 2030

Lomahasha, Swaziland (11 November, 2016) – Swaziland’s Honorable Minister of Health, Mrs Sibongile Ndhlela Simelane is hosting the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Malaria Commemoration Day in Swaziland today. Participants include the SADC Ministers of Health and senior government officials from SADC member states, the SADC Malaria Elimination 8 (E8) Secretariat, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, the Global Fund and the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) Secretariat. They will engage in malaria discussions, a field visit, and a commemorative dinner to mark the event.

The theme for this year’s SADC Malaria Day is “Strong cross border collaboration is key to malaria elimination – SADC unite to end Malaria”.
